Method for Correcting the Flatness of Aluminum Alloy Extrusion Plates

2026-01-08

1 Use effective mold modification to improve the flatness of the product

Mold repair is the most commonly used solution for poor flatness of extrusion materials at home and abroad, the advantage of this method is a wide range of applications, basically all extrusion materials can use this treatment method, its disadvantage is that production needs to be terminated, and the mold is processed after the mold is processed and then put on the machine to try the mold again, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and not conducive to energy conservation and consumption reduction. The poor plane clearance of the plate is mainly related to the uneven flow rate of the mold, by changing the size or angle of the diversion pit, or changing the length of the working belt to effectively adjust the metal flow rate, so that the flow rate is uniform and the defect of poor plane clearance is eliminated. This type of plate generally adopts this method in the early stage of production, some molds can solve the flatness problem once the mold can be repaired, and some molds need three or more times to completely solve the flatness problem, which is not only related to the mold itself, but also has a great relationship with the technical level of the mold repair workers.

2 Use offline finishing to correct the flatness of the product

First, according to the specific flatness characteristics of the sheet, reasonably set up the rollers of the offline leveling machine, then use flatness products to fix the rollers. By continuously adjusting the height and position of the rollers, once the flatness of the product meets the standard, fix the height and position of the rollers, and then the offline leveling of this batch of products can be completed. Offline leveling usually takes a long time, requires high labor intensity, and can easily affect the appearance of the product. This is an example of offline leveling for the sheet. The flatness of the sheet is uneven, exceeding the standard. Using a roller press method, as the product passes through the roller path, the middle and edge areas are subjected to a certain pressure from the rollers, thereby correcting the gaps on the product's surface.

3 Use online finishing to correct the flatness of the product

Considering the large order quantity, using offline post-processing would significantly reduce production efficiency and waste a lot of manpower. After a period of discussion and exploration, and based on the principles of offline post-processing, we proposed the concept of online post-processing and decided to develop a small device for online post-processing. If the trial is successful, it will not only avoid affecting production efficiency but also save a large amount of manpower. A simplified schematic of the online finishing equipment for sheet design. This device is based on the principle of offline finishing, with the addition of a bearing seat and rollers on the guiding device at the original extruder outlet. By adjusting the height and position of the rollers, the pressure applied to the product can be changed, causing a certain degree of deformation to control the flatness of the product within a reasonable range, thereby achieving the purpose of online finishing.
